The Plant

Sequencia serrata is a genus of plants, also known as Brocchinia serrata. The name designates the plant species as a major contributor to emerging scientific knowledge from studies of the plant’s pattern of DNA sequencing. Researchers have found that, as part of the Bromeiliad family, Sequencia plants undergo DNA-based taxonomic changes. In-ladder like fashion, the terrestrial, epiphytic plants have spread throughout the world, growing on other plants without parasitic characteristics. Through photosynthesis, specific anatomical features and accelerated, repetitive diversification, these plants perform monophyletic (not shared with any other group) speciation. Several distinctions, including linear leaves, dark curvy spine superior ovaries and perfect flower petals, separate the plants from other genera. Plus, through repetitive and intensive testing on plants, including Sequencia plants, scientists have discovered that plants respond to music.
